ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
ESOL Taster: For ESOL
learners who have had no previous experience of formal education.
Course
length: 1/2 a day.
ESOL Foundation Beginners: For learners who wish to improve their English
fluency. It is non-examined and is assessed by portfolio. Learners work
towards Entry Level 1.
Course length: 12 weeks, 10 hours per week.
SESL City and Guilds Spoken Basic: Learners work towards Entry Level 1.
Learners take the City and Guilds SESL Spoken Basic exam at the end of the
course.
Course length: 12 weeks, 10 hours per week.
SESL City and Guilds Spoken Elementary: Learners work towards Entry Level
2. They may have progressed from the Spoken Basic class. Learners take the
City and Guilds SESL Elementary Spoken exam at the end of the course.
Course length: 12 weeks, 10 hours per week.
ESOL City and Guilds Basic: Learners work within Entry Level 1 and will
take a written exam, the City and Guilds ESOL Basic exam at the end of the
course.
Course length: 12 weeks, 10 hours per week.
ESOL City and Guilds Elementary:
Learners work within Entry Level 2 and will take a written exam, the City
and Guilds ESOL Elementary exam at the end of the course. They may have
progressed from the Basic Written class.
Course length: 12 weeks, 10 hours per week.
Fees: All tuition is free for asylum seekers, refugees, women claiming benefits and EEA nationals
